The 2019 Readers and Writers Festival started Monday 29 April with a sold out event at Brixton Library (DeRay McKesson, talking about his involvement in #BlackLivesMatter). Throughout May and June there will be a fantastic line up of authors and events. Highlights include award winning Will Eaves discussing his book on Alan Turing, Radio 4’s Jenni Murray on her favourite historical women, Candice Carty-Williams (the most talked about writer of the moment) and Celeste Bell talking about her new book about her mum – Poly Styrene of X-Ray Spex fame. So much more drama, arts and poetry too…
