LEAP  ‘Addressing Healthy Eating’

LEAP is offering a free diet and nutrition training for the early years workforce in Lambeth.

The training will focus on evidence-based recommendations around healthy diet and nutrition from pregnacy to a child’s fourth birthday and will include topics such as,

  • basic nutritional science
  • healthy eating during pregnancy
  • breastfeeding
  • risk factors for poor nutritional status
  • introduction to solids
  • oral health
  • impact of nurtition on child growth and development

This training will be delivered by nutritional experts from Imperial College London, and aims to,

  • Improve practitioner’s knowledge around evidence-based recommendations regarding diet and butrition through pregnancy and the early years
  • To enable practitioners to give consistent key messages around diet and nutrition in pregnancy and the early years
  • To increase practitioner’s confidence and ability to support healthy eating within families
  • To enable practitioners to support behaviour change around healthy eating and lifestyle

The training is aimed at all frontline professionals who come into contact with children aged 0 – 4 years in Lambeth. Please note lunch and refreshments will be provided.
