This Trustees’ Week, we’re celebrating our fantastic board of trustees — volunteers who bring wisdom, experience, and care to everything we do.
Below, you can read some of their stories: how they got involved with LJAG’s mission and the valuable skills they bring to our organisation.
We’re always looking for new trustees too, so if you’re interested in helping support our work here in Loughborough Junction, we’d love to hear from you.

Katherine Jones, Chair
I moved to Loughborough Junction eight years ago and now live on the Loughborough Estate. Becoming a trustee of LJAG in 2019 has been both enriching and inspiring. I’m continually impressed by the dedication and creativity of our brilliant staff and trustees, and by the positive impact they have with and for the communities of Loughborough Junction.
I’m delighted to take on the role of Chair and look forward to working together to shape LJAG’s future direction.
My community journey began in Westerhailes, a housing estate in Scotland, where I first became involved in local activism. There, I saw first-hand the power of empowered communities to create change — and my son picked up a strong Scottish accent.
As Chair, I want to revisit LJAG’s core value of being “a great place to live and work” — ensuring that everything we do champions inclusion and supports the empowerment of the most excluded members of our community.

Nia Taylor, Treasurer
I have been a supporter of LJAG for over 10 years and a Trustee since December 2023.
I heard about LJAG through a friend of her son and was inspired by the charity’s success in rescuing neglected spaces and amenities and involving local people in its work. I am
really enjoying working with Tim Gaymer to support the Grove Adventure Playground in a reorganisation and refurbishment.
I am a qualified accountant, now retired; I worked in finance roles in public, private and charitable organisations for over 40 years. I now live in west Wales, so I carry out my role as Trustee and Treasurer mainly remotely, but my son and brother living in south London bring me to London regularly.

Afua Kudom
I recently joined the LJAG Board and have been in the role for around four months. I first found out about the work of LJAG through a friend and got to know a lot more about the organisation when I facilitated their Away Day in 2021.
I was motivated to become a Trustee with LJAG because I wanted to play a more proactive role in building a strong local community centred on inclusion and wellbeing. I’ve been inspired by the range of grassroots projects LJAG offers and the many ways they bring diverse members of the community together.
I bring a wealth of professional experience in education (both secondary and higher), coaching, and personal development, as well as voluntary experience in mentoring and youth work. I look forward to drawing on these skills and experiences to help strengthen LJAG’s work and strategic direction.

Tim Gaymer
I have lived in Loughborough Junction since my student days and been a founder member of LJAG as a trustee since 2008. This has been an opportunity to give back to my community and support the projects and consultations that LJAG has engaged in since its foundation for the benefit of those who live and work in the area.
As an architect by profession, I particularly enjoyed co-producing a Masterplan for the area with Lambeth Council, which although not adopted helped Lambeth define Loughborough Junction as an area in its own right with an active high street. More recently I am using those skills and my experience as a former primary school SEND governor to work with the Grove Aventure Playground to improve its financial standing, play offer and premises.
I love living and engaging in multicultural inner London but also enjoy the solitude of mountains where I holiday.
