News from our Loughborough Farmers – there’s loads going on!

From 15th September – 27th September 2015 Loughborough Farmers will be running a pop-up community cafe and market shop in the Platform by Wyck Gardens (SW9 7AH). They’ll be selling fresh homemade salads and sandwiches made using farm produce, as well as cakes, coffees and herbal teas. In the evenings from Thurs – Sat, stop by to enjoy a locally brewed craft beer. There will be a farm shop with vegetables, chutneys, jams and other homemade wares from people in the local community. The Grain Grocer will also be making an appearance, selling organic wholefoods direct from the jar. In addition, there will be a variety of free workshops you can get involved with including DIY, parents’ mornings and creativity sessions.  For full details of the farm events please check our website listing.     This Saturday Fabrice Boltho will be running another free training session. We have lots of seedlings that still need planting out this week. Please come and help if you can, so we can ensure a plentiful winter harvest.

Last Saturday we had our first consultation session for the funding bid we are working on with Lambeth Council to create some employment space integrated within the farm. A lot of ideas were put on paper and we will be holding another session this coming Tuesday 15 September so please come down and share your thoughts. The deadline for this bid is 2nd October so it is crucial we get as many points of view on it in the short time we have.

Thank you to all of you who came and supported our street party at Southwell Gardens last week on Saturday 5 September. It was great to see so many people there and the garden is really starting to come together. Loughborough Farm, the Lost Effra Project and Lambeth council have been helping the residents of the flats set up a new garden behind their flats.

Brockwell Park Community Greenhouses are running some events as set out below:

Saturday 12 September,11am to 4pm  – Wildflower meadow management, book your free place here and share what you learn when we plant our own wildflowers this autumn;
