This week on Saturday 10 October at 1pm, Fabrice the Community Gardener from Myatt’s Fields will be holding a training session. We will be learning all about the vegetables that can be planted now and overwintered to give them a good start next spring. We will be planting, onions, broad beans and peas and we have cleared some space in the bags to make room for them, so come along and learn something new.

Migle DIY event

Calling all DIYers. Geoff and Migle who have been working hard on the new Farm entrance will be leading another DIY session.  The new giant picket fence is nearly finished but they need help assembling the last few and getting them painted and erected.  Just bring yourselves, no tools required.
At tea break we will be planning our special community harvest lunch; we need offers of dishes from around the world which can incorporate one or two ingredients from the Farm.  All offers of help really welcome.  We will be celebrating the abundance of Autumn events including National Poetry Day and World Mental Health Day.For three weeks, Ileto Carribean People’s Network will offer a programme of activities and workshops for Black History Month.  Check the Platform’s website for details about this and other activities due to take place.

And one last thing our volunteer Jason Gibilaro is exhibiting at the Our Road exhibition at the Loughborough Hotel Gallery, 39 Loughborough Road. The gallery will be open Friday 9, Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October then Wednesday 14 to Sunday 18 October.  And at the same venue Farm volunteer and potter Marion Palmer will be giving a pottery demonstration.
