THE LOUGHBOROUGH FARM COMMUNITY CAFE

Is a community kitchen, cafe and farm shop celebrating the diverse food cultures of Loughborough Junction.

Open every Thursday and Friday, the cafe uses fresh produce grown at the Loughborough Farm as well as donations from local gardens and allotments. The cafe also sources food from local surplus so that perfectly edible food that would otherwise be wasted can be turned into delicious and healthy meals. Every Friday the cafe invites local residents to share their cooking skills, food and culture with others.

The cafe runs a programme of free training and workshops and aims to create a safe space for people to learn new skills and improve their confidence and wellbeing.

This week the local guest Chef,  is Vizzy who will bringing authentic Keralan cooking to Loughborough Junction

Menu
Sambar – Lentil based spicy and tangy Vegan  curry from south India . Serving  Keralan version with home made sambar spice powder mixed in a paste of fresh, grated and roasted coconuts.

Aubergine curry with Kudampuli –  is a type of tamarind grown in Kerala which gives the curry the distinctive smoky aroma and unique Keralan fish curry flavour.
 
Thoran – Classic Keralan Dry curry with  vegetables and farm greens in grated coconut ,curry leaves, mustard , fennel & cumin seeds 
All served with basmati rice
