What better time of year to be starting an Organic Gardening course ?
Gain an accredited level 1 qualification in horticulture
Sited at the beautiful Myatt’s Fields Park community garden and greenhouse, the course will run for 6 weeks on Tuesdays 1-3.30 pm, starting next Tuesday 18th with an introduction and tour of the garden.
The course content includes a strong practical introduction to organic gardening principles, moving away from chemicals and high energy artificial inputs and towards an effective nutrient, water and energy use, and practices such as crop rotation, companion planting, green manures and composting.
Single Homeless Project is running the course and has 6 places for local people looking to develop their food growing skills. There is support available to complete the coursework and a reference book full of content.
