Since 2008, Anthea has been the driving force behind LJAG’s community projects, initiatives and events, becoming a trustee in 2012. Her biggest achievement was recognising how unused or endangered community assets can be put to good use: setting up Loughborough Farm on a piece of land which had lain derelict for 25 years, and rescuing Grove Adventure Playground when the council threatened it with closure.
She has never hesitated to roll up her sleeves – whether organising Community Clean-Up Days, writing funding applications to secure our future, or supporting countless neighbourhood efforts.
We are deeply grateful for everything Anthea has done, and we look forward to building on her remarkable work and legacy.
The handover period is coming to a close, and we look forward to a community celebration where we can properly thank Anthea for the significant contribution she has made over many years. Stay tuned for event details in 2026!
