Apple Day was a great success

Thanks to Heather and all the farm and cafe volunteers who made this year’s Apple Day a great success!

Despite a wet and windy start, we had a good turnout of visitors who enjoyed all the activities on offer. Apple smashing and pressing was a favourite, along with the clay workshop where winged sycamore seeds provided inspiration for many flying creatures.

Lots of raking and by all ages meant the wildflower area was finally ready to be scattered with a mix of seeds – looking forward to a beautiful display in the spring.

Meanwhile, volunteers trundled hot, free fresh-made lunches from The Platform Cafe, and thanks to all those who contributed homemade apple cakes and bakes to the celebration!
