It was inspiring to be part of the Brixton Community Clean-Up on Sunday 1 March, coordinating volunteers here in Loughborough Junction to get out litter-picking and strengthening community pride and shared responsibility for our area.
The event was led by young people from Young People’s Movement (YPM) and RAE Academy, with support from Marcus Lipton Community Enterprise, Action on ASB, Brixton BID and LJAG. Volunteers worked in local teams across Loughborough Junction, Central Brixton, Moorlands Estate, Angell Town and Myatt’s Field Park before coming together for a joyful celebration in Windrush Square.
A huge thank you to everyone who gave their time and energy – it was a powerful reminder of what we can achieve together. We hope this can become a regular community event.
