Make your own planter, herb box, wine rack or wooden toys from recycled wood.
CityWoodwork is to run a series of woodworking classes for older men in the Brixton Remakery’ bespoke woodworking space. Whilst the target of our project is older men in Lambeth, women and younger men will be welcome too.
These classes are free and will take place every two weeks, over six months, beginning in March 2019. They are suitable for beginner and experienced woodworkers alike.
In twelve two-hour session, students will learn measuring and marking techniques, the use of simple hand tools, jointing, gluing and finishing methods. More advanced learners will discover approaches to design when using recycled wood,
Upon completion of this fun course, students will have completed several small, wood projects. They will also have made many new friends, both old and young, active in the Remakery, Brixton and been introduced to a fantastic local facility where they can continue to develop their new hobby.
