Loughborough Junction and Myatt’s Field Experimental Road Closures Community Chest

LJAG have received details from Lambeth of a fund local groups are invited to submit proposals for funding of up to £1000.  The information we have received is set out below:

Loughborough Junction and Myatt’s Field experimental road closures Community Chest

INTRODUCTION

The experimental road closures were introduced on 29 August and we are keen that local people get involved during the six-month experimental period.

We have set aside some funds to establish a community chest and local groups are invited to submit proposals for funding of up to £1000.   We particularly welcome proposals and ideas that aim to:

Encourage walking and/or cycling 

Contribute to the greening of the neighbourhood 

Encourage resident participation during the experimental period

WHO CAN APPLY?

Any not-for-profit organisation can apply.  You will need to show you have: a set of rules, a functioning committee, keep minutes of meetings and have a bank account.

HOW TO APPLY?

Please prepare a written proposal that is no more than two-sides of A4.   This should include:

Information about  your group and how it meets the application criteria listed above 

A summary of your proposal/idea, who will benefit, how and when it will be delivered and by whom   

How you will monitor the success of your project   

A budget showing how much funding you are seeking and how it will be spent

WHO WILL ASSESS YOUR PROPOSALS?

A panel of three Lambeth Council officers will carefully assess each proposal and decide whether to make an offer of funding.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION

If your group is made an offer of funding you will need to agree to:

Complete forms to be set up as a Lambeth Council supplier 

Sign an undertaking to use the funding only for activities specified in the written proposal or seek confirmation in writing if any changes are proposed 

Keep receipts for all items of expenditure supported by the funding and be prepared to show all receipts on request to a Council officer

Prepare a short written report summarising how successful the project has been

WHAT ARE THE DEADINES FOR SUBMISSIONS?

We want to start making awards as soon as possible, so the first deadline will be 12 noon on 15 September 2015, followed by 12 noon on 30 September 2015.    If any funding is remaining, there will be a further deadline of 30 October 2105    The panel of Council officers will assess applications shortly after each deadline and the Council will continue to invite applications until the fund of approximately £10,000 is fully allocated.
