Native Hedge Planting Day at Loughborough Farm, Saturday 23rd March 11am-4pm
Native hedge Planting Day for new Wild Mind Yard at Loughborough Farm
Join us for a fun-filled day of planting some native hedgrow at the Loughborough Farm! We’re creating a new area called the Wild Mind Yard at the farm which will be a space for the people of Loughborough Junction to relax and come together. The Wild Mind Yard will be filled with plants to increase biodiversity, mitigate pollution and generally be a bit of an oasis.
This will be great opportunity to lern how to plant a hedge, and about the beneficial effects of species, Dogwood, Elder, Crab apple, Hazel, and Rowan, in urban environemnts.
We’ll provide all the necessary tools and guidance. Whether you’ve visitied the farm before, or are curious to get involved, this event is open to everyone. Children are welcome to come along accompanied by an adult.
We’ll prepare the planting area and plant a variety of native hedge species. There will be a free vegan lunch provided by the platform cafe at 1pm and tea and snacks provided by us at 3 pm
