Our project The Platform Cafe’s Cost of Living Winter Programme continues to help out during the coldest months. Each week they donate nutritious meals to the community fridge at Get Rid of and Donate for those who need them.
In December they provided free Christmas lunches for local organisations including Breaking Out Of The Bubble, a charity that gives peer support to adults with learning difficulties, Brixton Wings, a charity that helps children and young adults from disadvantaged backgrounds, and Silver Yoga, a yoga class for older adults at Longfield Hall.
They also gave out free meals to families at Loughborough Children’s Centre in January. There was a good turnout, and families enjoyed the dhal and toasted bread whilst engaging with Mala about the cost of living crisis.
