Programme announced for this Saturday’s Christmas market in Loughborough Junction

This Saturday, 6 December, a new Christmas market will take place in Loughborough Junction showcasing the talent of local artists and designer-makers. On sale will be a mix of handmade art, craft, great food and treats for your Christmas shopping.

The market will take place at Sunshine International Arts C.A.F.E., 209a Coldharbour Lane, underneath the railway bridge, opposite Loughborough Junction station. The market is part of Small Business Saturday.

Divine Steel – our local Brixton-based three piece steel band will open our market with sets at 10.15am , 1pm and 3.15pm. See a video.

Get your hands on some Christmas gifts with a difference. The Cambria Choir will be singing Christmas Carols from 2-2.30pm. Sing along to some festive tunes, and perhaps a couple of pop classics too! See a video.

The kids area and craft workshops will be open all day and between 2.30-4.30pm there will be free hot chocolate for all kids plus face painting, balloon modelling and a bit of magic, bubbles and puppets.

At 4.30pm the draw of LJ Market raffle will take place, details TBC. Prizes include dinner for two at The Cambria Pub, a Christmas hamper, a bottle of sparking wine and more.

The following activities will be taking place at nearby locations.

Peddle My Wheels Pop-up Bike Market for buying and selling second hand bicycles. There will also be an opportunity to give your bike a FREE service with the Dr Bike Team and between 1-4pm you can get your bike marked and registered on the Bike Register by MPS Lambeth Safer Transport Team for free to deter thieves from stealing your bike. So get to The Platform on Ridgway Road between 10am and 6pm. 2 Ridgway Road, London, SW9 7AH.

Our local drumming group SHAMAH will offer us a drumming exhibition from 12-12.30pm outside The Platform. See a video.

Christmas wreath making workshop will take place at the Loughborough Farm from 1pm – places are limited so it will be a matter of first come first served. The farm will also be selling salads and stir-fry greens, delicious chai and cake. All donations will be welcome to which all profits going to support a programme of activities at the Farm. The Loughborough Farm is on Loughborough Road, opposite Wyck Gardens SW9 7UR
