Reveil turn 10! Call out for streams, soundcamps and radios

REVEIL 10 – Call #2

6 to 7 May 2023
Call for streams, soundcamps and radios

Join us on Dawn Chorus Day as Reveil turns 10!
Reveil is a collaborative long-form radio broadcast made up of ephemeral streams from rural and urban places – birds, amphibians, weather and sounds of unknown origin.
Thank you to all who have already proposed streams, sound camps and radio relays.
You can now create a page for your stream using this page builder.
Pages provide listeners with context and will form part of a long-term archive and publication after the event.
STREAM
The invitation is still open for live audio streams.
Each streamer selects a location and transmits their sounds live as daybreak arrives. Reveil moves West from one open microphone to the next, creating a 24+1 hour audit of points of listening around the earth.
You can stream with a phone, laptop or Raspberry Pi. We welcome back streamers who have been part of the project over a decade, and offer technical support for anybody with questions or starting out.

Each stream adds to the detail and diversity of the work.

Join a webinar on streaming live environmental sound on 25 March 2023 at 10:00 UTC and 17:00 UTC

Follow a guide at soundtent.org/stream
Please join and/or share this call!
RADIO
A group of independent radio stations come together to relay the broadcast. Wave Farm in Acra NY hold the primary mountpoint. Resonance Extra are our UK broadcast partners. Streams are hosted by Locus Sonus in Aix-Marseille. We welcome new and returning stations for Reveil 10. If you might interested to relay the show in whole or in part, please let us know.
CAMP
Many of the live streams come from sound camps – small or very small gatherings in places of acoustic and ecological interest. Find a list of soundcamps or set one up.

Please use this short form to:

– Propose a live stream
– Organise a soundcamp
– Relay the broadcast on a radio station
– Attend a webinar on live environmental streaming
– Do something else
We especially invite proposals from less-heard places and projects, Pacific and Atlantic timezones, and the Global South.

We anticipate your sounds!
