Loughborough Farm recruiting Senior Community Gardener

Are you experienced and passionate about community food growing and community gardening? Interested in joining our small and dynamic team of community food growers at the Loughborough Farm in Loughborough Junction, in south London? Then look no further.

Loughborough Farm, managed by the Loughborough Junction Action Group, a volunteer led social action charity located between Brixton and Camberwell in South London working to make Loughborough Junction a great place to live and work.

At the Loughborough Farm, we are working towards a vision to create a greener, healthier and more resilient neighbourhood. Volunteers come together twice weekly to grow and share vegetables. We deliver workshops, training sessions, market stalls, community events and run an informal social prescribing programme. 2023 is a pivotal time for the growth of the Farm as we expand our existing main site around LJ Works, a new affordable workspace. Senior Community Gardener

Working up to 21 hours a week at the Loughborough Farm, Tuesdays and some Saturdays essential.  Full time salary equivalent between £26,000 and £28,000 (pro rata), entitlement to annual leave; pension, training and development opportunities; fixed term (2 years).

You will support volunteers and local residents to increase their skills and knowledge of food-growing, access to nature and connection to the community and health and wellbeing.

You will co-ordinate farm sessions; crop planning and food growing activities; gardening, manage the Farm’s volunteering programme and work closely with the Farm Manager, Farm Committee, other Farm colleagues and volunteers to deliver the Farm’s strategic and operational plans.
