Portrait photographer sought for project in Loughborough Junction

The Loughborough Junction Action Group, in conjunction with the Milkwood Road Residents Assocation, Photofusion and Embrace Cooperation, is looking to recruit a portrait photographer to work on an innovative photographic project in  Loughborough Junction  photographing artists and makers living or working in the area.

Many residents of Loughborough Junction are unaware of the many activities which take place in their neighbourhood. This project will reveal the community to itself, will create connections, and increase awareness of the opportunities which exist, often hidden and unacknowledged. It will also reveal to the wider world that Loughborough Junction is more than just a place to pass through on the road from Camberwell to Brixton.

The project will also work with young photographers between the ages of 13 and 25 who will work towards a Bronze Arts Award.

The photographer’s fee is £5,000 to provide 25 portraits (nine by the students) and includes 37 hours of teaching.  The project has secured funding from the Arts Council and Lambeth council.
